Welcome to our BLOG!! The Seniors of Oil City Club, to be known as the SOC Club, is designed to be a comfortable destination for the "over 60" crowd in the Oil City Louisiana area. We are planning our "GRAND OPENING" party on Friday, February 13th, 2008 from 3 - 6 PM. The theme of the party will be "Wear Your Lucky Friday the 13th Hat", which means wear your luckiest hat, your best hat, your most outrageous hat - ANY hat. There will be a prize for the best hat. Entertainment will be provided by Mr. Denny Mattocks. The Caddo Parish Council on Aging (CCOA) will begin it's hot meal program at the SOC Community Center (Currently the "OLD" Community Center at 310 Savage Street) on Friday, February 20th. You must be signed up as a member in order to participate. Membership forms will be available at the GRAND OPENING Party on the 13th. We urge all Oil City residents to come and join in the fun and see the newly refurbished Senior Center, meet the site supervisor,Thom Butenhoff, and help the Mayor "Chip" Dickey, the Town Clerk and Council, and the other friends and families of Oil City introduce the SOC CLUB to Oil City.
